But there are certain times when being fandom just makes me want to screa or cry ( or possibly both). I mean, seriously? Starting a fan campaign because you don't like a character who HASN'T EVEN APPEARED IN THE SHOW YET? I'm sorry if I sound like a bitch, but that's just plain idiotic! I admit I have some reservations about the second season of Hawaii Five-0, but I'm going to at least wait until I see it to decide how I feel. And if I don't like it, then I won't watch it any more. It would be disappointing, but come on, in the end it's just television.

I live in Ohio and I felt the earthquake that just happened in Virginia. I work at a library and it was strong enough that the shelves were swaying back and forth. If it was that bad here, I just hope people in Virginia are doing okay.

I made a new vid, my first in a while. It feels good to be vidding again! It's for Hawaii Five-0, a Steve and Danny vid to the song Tick Tick Boom by The Hives.

Tick Tick Boom from Lesley Wilmoth on Vimeo.

This is what I need to keep telling myself. The season finale of Hawaii Five-0 was last night and while mostly liked it, there was one storyline that really made me mad. Then I've been reading other reactions and some of the things that people are saying have me bummed out because I'm afraid they stop watching and then the ratings will drop. Despite what I didn't like about the finale, I plan to keep watching and want the show to do well in season two.

Yeah, I definitely think I need to take a step back now. It's just a tv show. It's totally not worth being in this kind of mood about it, no matter how much I like the show.

I was just over at Fanfiction.net. Looking at the bio of one of the authors, I saw that she said that she doesn't want feedback from anyone who isn't a writer. According to her, if you can't write, then you automatically lose the right to critique her. Seriously? I don't write much, but I've done a few short pieces here and there. I love all the feedback I get from everyone, even the negative reviews as long as they aren't rude about it. It makes me think about things and hopefully, I'll do better the next time I write. At least she doesn't have to worry about getting feedback or critique from me, since I don't plan to ever read anything else she ever writes after this. It's not like the writing was that good, anyway. And yeah, I realize I'm probably blowing this way out of proportion, but that just bugged me.

Long time, no post! I come bearing a music meme, from the journal of moogsthewriter.

1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.

2. List (and upload) 5 songs you love that begin with that letter.

3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

My letter was C. I have almost 5,000 songs in my iTunes library and C seems to be a popular letter, so this was really hard, but I finally narrowed it down to these five.

1. City of Blinding Light by U2

2. Consequence Free by Great Big Sea

3. Courtin' in the Kitchen by Gaelic Storm

4. Curse of a Fallen Soul by the Dropkick Murphys

5. Crying by Roy Orbison

I really hope so. Right now school is sucking up all my free time, not to mention my soul and my will to live. Okay, that last part definitely isn't true and quite possibly just a tad melodramatic, but it sure feels like it sometimes. LOL

But on the plus side, I have a new favorite fannish obsession. I've been watching the new Hawaii 5-0 and only three episodes into it, I'm totally obsessed. It's a fun show, the cast is great, especially Scott Caan (the scenes with him and the little girl who plays his daughter are always awesome!!!) and considering they're only three episodes in, I think they're doing an excellent job with the characterizations. I love the Steve and Danny banter! I read that the ratings are the highest for any new show this season, so I really hope that means that the Alex O'Loughlin curse is broken and the show will stick around for at least a few seasons.

I just tried to explain to someone who's not into fandom, online communities, or any of that stuff what the term squee means. It didn't go so well. LOL
